National Education Systems Technology That Serves the Education System

The Freedom Tablet platform can support more than individual learning programs. It can become part of a country’s broader education infrastructure.

IDEA works with governments and Ministries of Education to transform approved curriculum, textbooks, learning resources and national educational priorities into interactive digital experiences that can be delivered safely to children — including communities where dependable internet access does not exist.

The Country Owns the Education

IDEA does not arrive with a curriculum and ask a country to adopt it.

National education authorities determine what children should learn. Existing curriculum can be digitized and expanded with narration, animation, interactive activities, assessment, local stories and additional learning resources while preserving the country’s educational standards, languages and cultural priorities.

The Lifeline model already establishes this principle: national curriculum and learning outcomes are supplied and reviewed by Ministries, while IDEA provides content development and technical implementation.

Reaching Beyond the Classroom

A national digital education system can extend learning into rural communities, homes and other locations that conventional infrastructure struggles to reach.

Offline technology allows educational resources to reside directly on the device. New approved content can be distributed periodically without giving children unrestricted internet access.

The objective is not to replace schools or teachers.

It is to extend the reach of the national education system to every child it serves.
